ffxiv teamcraft on linux
installation
installing is pretty easy. grab the latest release from github.
packet capture (with xivlauncher.core)
this is the difficult part. it turns out the official xivlauncher.core has some issues, i'm assuming because it's running in a flatpak sandbox, at least from what i found on my machine. and according to documentation, flatpak are not supported on teamcraft.
so i had to switch to a non-flatpak xivlauncher.core. that document lists unofficial-wine-xiv-git and wine-ge-xiv. i used unofficial-wine-xiv-git.
installing that was easy, and all my dalamud configurations and character configurations/data carried over easily.
while that was running, teamcraft actually successfully detected this new wine build, and automatically switched over. i also added WINEFSYNC=1 to the "extra wine env" field in the desktop settings of teamcraft, since this fork uses wine 10.10.
as for which xivlauncher to run, both are valid choices. i'm guessing the fork would lag a bit behind with game updates, and support isn't as broad as the official xivlauncher. i'm thinking to just keep using the official one unless i specifically need packet capture or inventory tracking.
